Scuttlebutt - February 1

February 1, 2023
The new episode of the For the Greater Groove Podcast is out, and if you care about good music and bringing good music to kids around the world, Jesús Florido will be preaching to the choir.
We chat about grooves, classical players and Stephane Grappelli's yellow shirt.
Then I quiz Mr. Florido about...the state of Florida, including an obscure reference from a Carl Hiaasen book.
Even though it's the middle of the winter, I can't wait to get up to Vermont next week. And I don't even ski!

Looking forward to meeting Maestro Andrew Crust , (who was name-dropped by Kate Blanchette's character, btw, in the movie Tar!) and the genre defying Vermont Symphony

It's going to be a week of good music, good food, really good beer, ( Heady Topper , I'm talking to you,) and revisiting old friends and the town of Burlington, where I spent a good deal of time a few years ago.

I did an Instagram takeover with the @vt_symphony yesterday, and most of the Insta stories may still be up if you get this early enough.
