So wonderful to visit with the man who taught me how to play the violin oh so many years ago. I first studied with Lewis Kaplan when I was 8 at the Juilliard pre-college, and then, along with Ivan Galamian, at Juilliard as a undergrad. At 91, Lewis Kaplan is still going strong--still teaching, still running two Bach festivals, one in NYC and one in Portland Maine, still adjudicating at international competitions and still telling hysterical jokes for just about anything you might say.
